A Blink in Time

by Janine Phillips

In one brief fleeting moment
we grace our blessed Earth.
A universal sigh,
a blink in time,
is all that we are worth.
How we spend our days
and who we touch and heal
is all that matters
while we breathe,
and when that breath has ceased.
Our memory will linger,
like the sun’s rays on The Sound,
like Autumn’s leaves falling softly,
blanketing Winter’s ground.
We will not last forever
so make the most of each day.
Then who you were,
and what you did,
will never fade away.
