Happy National Kissing Day! (June 22, 2024)

I love kissing. I love songs about kissing. I love reading first kiss scenes. I love writing first kiss scenes.
Sigh.
Yes. There is nothing greater than that timeless moment two lovers meld heart, mind, and soul, transcending all the doldrums of reality as they sweep one another up into the magical whirlwind and passion of their first kiss.
Or any kiss thereafter, if they are lucky.
Kisses are undoubtedly magical, especially a first kiss. Kissing can convey so much when words fail. It can be a hello or a goodbye. It can be filled with regrets or promises. It can be heated and passionate or soulless and dismissive.
I myself prefer the heated, passionate kisses any day. You know, the kind that steal your breath and make you forget how to think or speak. Your heart starts racing and you swear you never want it to end. And when it does you want more. And more. And more.
If you’ve missed this June 22 National Kissing Day, don’t despair. Mark your calendar for July 6, 2024- that is the International Kissing Day.
If you’re lucky enough to celebrate the National Day, Yay You! If you’ve missed it, that’s okay. You’ve got two weeks to practice! So pucker up, grab your honey, and kiss away.
I’ve created a Kissing Playlist on Youtube where I’ve collected a bunch of Kissing Songs, so check it out. If you don’t see your favorite Kissing Song on there, shoot me a PM or mention it in the comments and share it with us.
Do you remember your first kiss with your current love? Or how about your very first kiss? Or just a favorite kiss you shared with a favorite someone?
How about a favorite movie kissing scene? Like the one with Charles and Carrie in Four Weddings and Funeral? Swoon! Or how about . . . Mark and Bridget in Bridget Jones Diary? Great movies.
I hope you get to share today with your special someone, locked in a passionate-never-gonna-let-you-go kind of kiss that leaves you feeling like you just got off the Tilt-A-Whirl at the local summer carnival.
If you did not lose your balance, breath, or mind, go back and try again.
Meantime, I have to sign off. I have some celebrating to do myself.
